Thank you for visiting our site hope you enjoy Welcome to our site. We live in Pennsylvania and have been breeding Toy Poodles, since the late 70's. Our first toy poodles were a silver female, black female and a red male. Katie (silver) poodle was my sweetheart. Unfortunately, Katie did not like Vince at all. As time passed, we purchased a few more quality poodles. Some of the breeding lines included Syntifny Piece of the Rock and Hell's A Blazen. Then Vince had a very serious accident causing us to discontinue our kennel. Although I did keep Katie, the remaining little family members went to close friends and relatives. After Vince recovered from the injuries, I wanted to have the kennel going again. I must admit "I love puppies". Nothing in this world makes me feel any better than having a puppy kiss me and the smell of puppy breath. I decided to have three quality breed lines in the kennel. Our choices were Toy Poodle, Maltese and Yorkshire Terrier. Again, we're breeding some excellent blood lines, including our own. Throughout the years, we had another dream that someday we would go to the Westminster Dog Show in New York. Not to participant in, but just to visit the show. So, for 30 years when the Westminster Dog Show came on the TV, we would say maybe next year. Then we met a wonderful person, Lee Coleman, owner of "Lin-Lee Maltese" kennel, he introduced us to the breeder of Polar Bear. We purchased him from them. And the next thing we knew, Polar Bear had qualified for the 2005 Westminster Dog Show. Lee Coleman, and Polar Bear, made our dreams come true. `On Feb. 14, 2005, Polar Bear and I walked into ring #7 at Madison Square Gardens, home to Westminster Kennel Club. Yes, Virginia there is a Santa Claus. Even in February. +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ Not looking for a show dog: Most people are looking to buy a small lap dog, not a show dog. So basically, that is the kind of pet we sell. Excellent in health, attitudes, and just wanting to be loved. Our puppies are handled moments after delivery. We like to call this "imprint training", helping the pups accept you as their closest friend. By doing this with all our pups, we have found that everything you do with them, as they get older is very easy and the trust is unbelievable. The feedback from our new owners have stated how easy it is to house break and bond with the pups is amazing. Even the new owner's veterinarian were surprised with handling the pups. Especially being able to hold them in your hand while they are lying on their backs. Our pups are handled and played with daily. At first, we have them just lying on our chest while we watch TV. Of course, sleeping is their biggest event. As time passes, they are all over the floors, pulling your hair and licking your nose. Rough housing with each other. Then one by one they find a quiet spot and drift off to sleep. We gather them up and then back to mom. Tomorrow we do it all over again. The puppies make us feel young again. How they make you laugh, letting everything else seem so unimportant. The puppies can reach a part of your heart that no one else can touch. Only a fellow animal lover will ever understand this bond. Helping to fill the void: Small dogs for seniors can bring a whole new meaning to the phrase "man's best friend". For those who have lost loved ones or live far from family, pets can make a bright spot in their lives. We have found over the years, a puppy provides a great companionship for those who have lost a loved one. We have had the opportunity to take a Maltese and Toy Poodle to a local retirement home to visit. Each person held the dog on their lap, hugging, kissing, laughing and just stroking the dogs hair. As one lady said, "I haven't brushed hair like this since my daughter was a young girl". Just watching her facial expressions, you could almost see her go back in time. Selling a puppy to a person, for us, is not just a final event. We like the new owners to keep in touch with us, either by using e-mails, cards, letters, telephone calls or even a return visit with the pup. Because, we love them All too. Helping to select the right breed: We have the opportunity to belong to two local kennel clubs. The Laurel Highland Kennel Association and the Altoona Area Kennel Association, both have dog handling classes available. These classes are a must in getting the pup ready for the shows. Plus, each year the clubs have a A.K.C dog show for conformation. For someone looking to add a special member to their household, attending a dog show in your area gives you an opportunity to see and touch almost every purebred dog. Also, you are able to meet and talk with other dog people from all over the country. But I think the best advice is to use your HEAD not your HEART when you purchase a puppy. Think about your age, your health and your surroundings. All puppies are cute and cuddly, easy to pick-up, hold, and walk on a leash. As time passes some breeds start to shed, their head now about table height, and walking them on a leash almost dislocates your shoulder. If you are an older person, maybe you should think small dog. If you live in a city, maybe you should think small dog. If you want to take your dog shopping with you, maybe you should think small dog. If you do not want a sore back and shoulder all the time, maybe you should think small dog. I hope we helped you with making a decision, to buy a.....Small dog. No matter what you purchase, make sure you are a good pet owner. You must take care of all their needs. If you work, remember 100% of the dogs needs must be taken care of before you leave for work, school,.etc...Example; going outside for bathroom needs, fresh food, clean water, toy's and clean bedding. We believe in crating unattended pets. Some others do not, they feel this is not fair to the animal. Why we do and suggest to our new owners to use the crates, is for the safety and protection of the animal. Also, house breaking is a lot easier. Puppies and young adult dogs do not make wise choices all the time. Like maybe chewing on an electric cord, a sponge, or a plant, etc,. A person we knew, purchased a puppy ( not from us) and left it just run loose in the home. One evening when they returned home, the puppy was sick. They rushed him to the vet, found out after the death, he chewed and swallowed a piece of sponge. What else could have caused the same outcome? So, yes we support the use of a proper size crate for the health and safety of the pet. It is their own space, a safe haven and having a low overhead this gives them a feeling of a den. Crate them for their own protection. |

| Polar Bear and Ginny taking a well deserved break during the day. Without her pets there would be no sunshine. |
| This is Shay-Meca our first Maltese show dog. As you can see, she is having a bad hair day. She weighs 3 pounds 4 oz.. Before every show, we would buy her a McDonald's sausage mcgriddle and a hot dog for lunch. Everything that is not recommended for maintaining a good doggy figure. This got her to almost four pounds for the show floor. |

| I would like to share with you a telephone inquiry about a puppy for sale. An elderly ladies voice asked, "if we had any puppies for sale". I said yes, what are you looking for? She said, "I just lost my husband of 50 years and I want a dog to replace him". I of course, felt the grief and sorrow in her voice and extended my condolences for her loss. She was looking for a small dog to accompany her. She purchased a puppy from us and both are doing wonderful. The day she picked it up, her arms wrapped around the pup and we have yet to see the pup walk again. At times, I think back to the replacement request and just wonder....... " What's Ginny thinking when I'm being replaced ???? Vince |
