| Whispering Pines Kennel a PA State Certified Class II Kennel Being licensed means having unannounced inspections throughout the year, making sure we following the state laws for a non-commercial breeding kennel. Having a safe, healthy environment for each purebred dog. We must manage and maintain accountable records for each adult dog and every puppy born in our kennel. At no time do we permit a female and male pure breed dog to be together, unless they are breeding. Also unannounced inspected by the American Kennel Club. Our little fur balls enjoy two 14 ft x 18 ft rooms that are attached to our living area. Each room has individually controlled, heating, air condition, water purification system, air filtration plus a total outside air exchange system, a UV light purification that kills 100% of air borne disease & virus. Each full time resident has proper size living and sleeping quarters, including smoke and fire alarm system, 24 hour music, inside/outside surveillance system, all for their total safety, health quality, and animal comfort. In their outside exercise areas they have total surround security fence with UVS overhead shading. Each of the group run are half open to the sky and the other half under roof for that unexpected rain. Shale base for drainage then rubber matting on top for protecting their paw pads. The second room is a nursery/delivery room giving extra whelping area with a glass viewing window helping to keep the mommies less excited. From minute one, the puppies are handled and loved. " After all, these are our Grand-Puppies ". Ginny has been breeding quality purebred Toy Poodle puppies, over twenty years. About ten years ago, we added the wonderful Maltese breed. Ginny has fallen totally in love with the breed. The Maltese is born to be a loving companion. Being on your lap or along side of you is the place for them. Then, we decided to add the third purebred line to our kennel. This was not a hard decision for us the delightful Yorkshire Terrier was the only choice. Out of the three wonderful breeds we have, a purebred Yorkshire Terrier brings out the meaning of a true independent. They are lively, lovable, and a total delight. These three quality purebred breeds have the exact pet qualities that we were looking for as a breeder, non-shedding, non-allergenic, easy going, prefect size and weight to carry or hold on your lap." Maintaining these qualities is our goal". The three breeds, Maltese, Toy Poodle, and Yorkshire Terrier, have one thing in common for their breed conformation. The four to seven pounds as an ideal adult weight. Today everyone's looking for the smallest dog under four pounds, name being used " teacup" actually these are just the runt of a litter. Yes occasionally we have a teacup size runt or two. We advertise them as tiny- tiny meaning the puppy will be at the lower weight of the conformation size of under five pounds. It is impossible to guarantee a weight. What you feed the pup, being a special treat or table food will effect it's weight and size. Each puppy purchased from us is vet checked, receives their first shots, and comes with a full health guarantee. Each pup has been separated from the mother a week before leaving the kennel. This helps to insure the puppies are eating and drinking well on their own. The litter is now eating Flint River Ranch oven-baked kibble for puppies. Puppies at the toy size are very small, 1.6 to 2.6 pounds, at leaving time. Missing the intake of food and water over a short time may cause a drop in their sugar levels having food and fresh water available all the time is the best and safest for them. Maintaining coat on the puppies can be easy. Each breed the Maltese, Toy Poodle, and Yorkshire Terrier has beautiful hair. You may call it hair because it is like our hair making the three breeds non shedding and not having that awful smell when their coat is wet or damp like the majority of breeds. If your not going to show your dog. We recommend a puppy cut hair style even into the adult age. Bathing them using a good people shampoo and conditioner is OK. Purchasing a good pin brush to use is great. Most will love the extra attention of the brushing just being together makes them the happiness. Also, a good way to continue the bonding with your pet. | Question sometimes asked by a new pet owner is about the socialization of the puppies with adults, children, other dogs, and getting along with a cat. We have an excellent program of socializing puppies, but we have no inside cats. As each puppy matures we do not mention the word "cat" nor tell them that their not suppose to like cats or kittens. | Oh God! I loved him so much. A loss of a loved one is so very hard to understand and so very hard to believe. We slept together last night as we've done for almost three years, we awoke playing around with each other till it was time to get out of bed. Went to the kitchen and had some breakfast together. Together again for a late lunch then resting in the lazy boy for our after lunch power nap with Dude rolled up in a ball shape on my lap. Awaking from this nap the day changed forever in our life. A slip with a terrible fall then instantly Dude was gone from us. Without a hug, a kiss, only our tears and loving memories remain. With all our love We'll never forget you Whis-Pin Kowabunga Dude |
